Such a fantastic movie, Heath was incredible. It may have been a Batman movie, but it was Heath's show. Good story, boss action, fantastic acting. I was on the edge of my seat for multiple scenes. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! You won't regret it.

Most definitely the best Batman movie ever, and is/will be a favorite all-time for many people. Why? Great acting within a great storyline in the context of a much preferred serious-style Batman narrative.rn rnLead by Heath Ledger's mesmerizing performance as an insane but genius villain, the Joker makes us laugh too. Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face does very well, as does Bale as Batman. However, it took good acting performances by both Eckhart and Bale to balance the extraordinary performance of Ledger.rnrn P.S. Yes Batman's voice is a little annoying and unusually low, but you do get used to it quickly and you have to remember, it's more realistic for Batman's voice to be significantly different than Bruce Wayne, right?rnrn

Amazing, phenomenal the Heath Ledger completely becomes the joker , assuming that pyschotic aura that the joker is! Batman is very good too, but the joker takes center stage. Wonderful, my favorite movie ever and might also be yours! Even if you don't like the type of movie, actors or plot this movie will impress you. But if you are one of those snobby parents that don't want your kids to see gore then stay well enough alone because this movie was an inspiring performance! Enjoy!

Watched it....Loved it.\n\nThe only really downside was Ledger\'s portrayal of the Joker...Nichols on did it MUCH better IMO. The movie was a bit too long too. But all in all I liked it.

Review of the movie, “Dark Knight”
By Jim Reynolds©2008 The movie Dark Knight is a tale of a masked paladin, “Batman", in his battle with the clown makeup anarchist, the ”Joker”, for the control of crime in Gotham City. Their battle, ostensibly about money, starts with a bank robbery in clown costumes. The Joker kills off all of his accomplices during the robbery. And you thought your boss was bad. Soaring action continues with car, truck, and motorcycle chases, explosions, daring escapes, all of which are seamlessly integrated with the dialog into the visually dark storyline. Give the director, editor and cinematographer 5 stars for the entertaining the target audience. Bravo! For me there was a little less movie than that which meets the eye. Go to the movie. Close your eyes and listen to the Joker. Does he sound like the paranoid schizophrenic crazy he is supposed to be? Listen not to the dialog but to the tone. Listen for the silences that are not there. The Joker is not crazy to anyone who has ever had to deal with a conflicted person. Heath Ledger, the Joker, gives an excellent verisimilitude of mannered gestures and sound bites. In an era of fast action American movies there is little time to develop a conflicted hero and no time at all for the villain. Almost everyone is on emotional steroids in this comic book movie. Pass the soda and the popcorn. We all need a sugar high to keep up with the show. But … if you want character you “can” believe in… see the excellent French thriller, “Tell no one”. In the Dark Knight what you get instead are characters that you “want” to believe in. There is a Big Difference.

Batman Began in the previous movie and he falters in this new one. The first movie was great, if comic book purists like myself ignored all the changes from the source material. This movie also strays from the comics a lot. Unfortunately, it isn't as good as a stand-alone movie. The origin of the Joker is not shown, only teased at through the character's crazed and inconsistant rantings about his scarred mouth. The Joker is given no real motivation and has no connection to Batman other than enjoying messing with his mind. The plot with the mobsters is so convoluted and muddled that it's hard to follow compared to the plot in Begins. Two-Face, the far more interesting villian of the film, is given very short shrift. He's barely in the movie at all even though it's the story of how Harvey Dent cleans up Gotham only to be turned into a crazed criminal by a vengeful mobster who throws a vile of acid on his face that is the real story the movie should have told the whole time. They did manage to have Harvey Dent and his rise to fame in the film pretty much right but the transformation was all wrong for no good reason. We didn't need a love triangle to make the movie good. Don't the script writers even read the comics they base their movies on? Aaron Ekhart gave a great performance as Dent/Two-Face given what he had to work with. His transformation gradually, first internally then following with the scars was well acted. No one talks about him though since it's Ledger who died while making the film. Ledger did good as the Joker even though his take on the villian was totally messed up compared to the comic book versions. He succeeded in makeing the Joker creepy and loathable. I don't care what people say about Christian Bale's voice as Batman this time around, I still think he's the best Bruce Wayne/Batman ever. He fits both roles perfectly. I actually like his new voice as Batman as it does a better job of disguising his real identity. In Begins, he changed his voice a little but not as much as this time. In Dark Knight, it also makes him more scary which was the whole point of the Batman persona in the first place: to scare criminals. As much as I liked the movie, I can't give it five stars as I was not happy with how they cheated Two-Face at the expense of over exposing a poorly written Joker.
